Railway Photography by Calum Hepplewhite
Welcome
Hello and a warm welcome to my website.

This site contains my photographs from the UK's constantly changing National Rail Network as well as Preserved Railways since February 2007. Most of my images are East Anglia based but I occasionally venture further afield.

I started taking railway photographs in 2002 using an Olympus Trip XB40 AF, a compact 35mm camera which I best remember as a 'Snapshot' camera.

Having used the 'Snapshot' camera for nearly five years, I finally moved into the digital age in February 2007 and purchased my first digital camera in the shape of the Samsung S850. A creative compact camera, this was very ideal for myself to learn basic photography methods before expanding onto something bigger.

In November 2007, the S850 suffered from accidental damage and was replaced with the similar Samsung S1050. Whilst having few advantages over the S850, the S1050 was slower and had few less features than the S850 which made me crave for an upgrade.

I soon looked upon upgrading to a D-SLR and in the same month, I purchased a Nikon D80 along with a 18-135mm lens and from February 2008, this was supplemented with a 70-300mm lens.

If you have anything to ask me, please don't hesitate to contact me using the message box below.

Thank you for visiting my site and I hope you like the pictures.

All the best
